ANN Algeria signed an agreement with China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) on Tuesday to establish a joint company specializing in port dredging and maritime works.
The deal was signed at the Ministry of Public Works under the supervision of Minister Abdelkader Djellawi, according to an official statement.

The new venture, created with Algeria’s Maritime Works Group (GTM), will focus on restoring operational depths in ports, including docks, navigation channels and harbor entrances.
Officials say the project is intended to improve port efficiency, support commercial shipping and boost the economic performance of Algeria’s maritime infrastructure.
The agreement reflects growing infrastructure cooperation between Algeria and China, particularly in transport and public works projects.
